Number of AEB adult learners by priority sector
In 2020/21 there were just over 61,000 AEB enrolments of which:
The four priority sectors of Digital and Creative; Business, Professional and Financial Services; Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing; and Construction accounted for nearly 6,300 adult AEB learners about 21% of all AEB adult learners.
Number of AEB adult learners in the Digital Creative sector by Level
646 learners were enrolled within the Digital and Creative sector. 34% of enrolments in the sector were on to Level 2 courses and 40% on to Level 3 or above provision.
Number of AEB adult learners in the Business, Professional and Financial Services sector by Level
1678 learners were enrolled within the Business, Professional and Financial Services sector. 44% of enrolments in the sector were on to Level 2 provision and 29% on to Level 3 or above courses.
Number of AEB adult learners in the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing sector by Level
1,561 learners were enrolled within the Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing sector. About two thirds of enrolments in the sector were on to Level 2 provision and 22% on to Level 3 provision.
Number of AEB adult learners in the Construction sector by Level
2,410 learners were enrolled within the Construction sector. The level was not designated in relation to almost 6 in 10 enrolments, mainly ‘Construction Gateway’ enrolments. Of those that were designated 25% were to Level 2 courses and 8% on to Level 3 provision.
Top 10 AEB Level 2+ programmes
Within each of these four priority sectors analysis of the top 10 AEB Level 2+ programmes in terms of the number of enrolments indicates that these specific learning aims account for a significant proportion of all enrolments within these sectors.
