2019/20 Programmes for 16-18 year-olds – Inclusion

In 2019/20 there were almost 39,000 16-18 learners resident in the WMCA area.

16-18 – Number of enrolments by English, Maths and ESOL

There were 118,961 enrolments in total, of which maths enrolments accounted for 18%, English 15%, with ESOL a further 2%.

16-18 – Number of learners by highest level

Level 2 was the highest level of course being undertaken by 35% of learners and Level 3 was the highest level for 54%.

53% of learners were male and 47% female.

20% were recorded as having a disability.

Number of 16-18 learners by ethnicity

Just over half (51%) of 16-18 learners were from a BME background.
