Halesowen College has recently delivered digital skills training to over sixty members of staff from the Emmiera Group on-board CEDRIC, it’s brand new digital training bus, funded by LSIF.

The training focused on the functional office applications of the MS Office 365 platform, equipping employees with enhanced technical capabilities to excel in their roles.

Halesowen College worked closely with Nathan Hadley of local transport company Prospect Coaches, who have been an invaluable partner throughout this initiative, assisting in sourcing the coach and calling on key contactors to support its refurbishment and ensure CEDRIC became a great feature.

CEDRIC, was designed with two primary objectives in mind; to support communities in enhancing their digital skills and to encourage employers to invest in the development of their workforce. It was launched in response to the LSIP which highlighted the need for more digital skills funding.

The Emmiera Group, a Brierley Hill based company which provides an on-site repair service for leather, soft furnishings, beds and cabinets, has hailed the training a great success.

Kate Cooke, Human Resources Manager at The Emmiera Group, said “Halesowen College’s Digital training program has been instrumental in equipping our team with the latest skills and knowledge.

“The hands-on approach has significantly enhanced our employees’ technical capabilities, making them more efficient and confident in their roles. This training has not only improved individual performance but will also contribute to our overall organisational success”.

John Murray, Director of Operations & Stakeholder Engagement at Halesowen College, who led on this project said, “CEDRIC is a fantastic resource that will be beneficial to businesses and the wider community. It is great to see so many people already taking advantage of Halesowen College’s new resource.”
