College Overview

Coventry College is situated in the City of Coventry in the West Midlands. The college traces its roots back to the 19th Century when the Mechanics Institution was formed in 1829 to educate young weavers in arithmetic, geography, grammar and music. City College and Henley College both merged to formed Coventry College in 2017 with two campuses in the Hillfields and Bell Green areas.

The college’s core provision is predominantly programmes for young people serving 3,000 school leavers from across the Coventry City region in a wide range of subject areas from performing arts, games design, business, science through to construction and engineering.

The college is well-established and renown for up-skilling thousands of adult learners with high progression rates into employment. In addition, it has industry standard engineering and construction facilities including specialist bus and coach workshops.

It has formed a partnership with the City of Culture Trust 2021 as a ‘City Partner’ and is establishing new provision and programmes to address cultural and creative skills gaps in the region, as a result.
