The new Low Carbon Construction Centre at Rugby College (Part of WCG) has thrown open its doors!
Funded by a £900,000 LSIF grant, the centre, which will focus on low-carbon techniques and future housing, specialising in heat pumps and solar applications, is all geared up to help bridge the skills gap in Sustainable Construction.
The centre features innovative training tools including a Retrofit Assessment simulator and virtual reality (VR) training scenarios focusing on heat pump installation.
The investment comes after the Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP) highlighted key areas which need growth and investment to bridge the local skills gap by retraining and upskilling current employees and enticing new workers into industry.
