Dudley College of Technology

Dudley College of Technology is situated in the Borough of Dudley in the West Midlands. The college traces its roots back to 1862, when the Dudley Public Hall and Mechanics’ Institute was first established. In 1896, the institution became Dudley Technical School and was later renamed Dudley Technical College in 1928.

With 13 campuses clustered in Dudley town centre (the Dudley Learning Quarter) and in Brierley Hill (the Brierley Hill Learning Quarter), the college primarily serves the communities of Dudley, Sandwell, and Wolverhampton. Its apprenticeship provision supports employers across the West Midlands.

The college delivers a wide range of technical programmes for young people, including T Levels introduced in September 2020, and A Levels through its sixth form, Dudley Sixth. It is one of the largest national providers of apprenticeships and is particularly renowned for its engineering and advanced manufacturing provision. Dudley College also offers a substantial range of adult learning programmes, from entry into employment through to technical upskilling.

Dudley College leads on the development of the Black Country & Marches Institute of Technology, which opened in a major new build in Dudley in September 2021. The college also sponsors the Dudley Academies Trust, comprising two primary and four secondary schools located near its main site.
